Seeking help as you cope with life's difficult circumstances can be hard, and it is my honor and privilege to work with you as your therapist. My role in your wellness journey is to provide guidance and support as you learn healthy, effective coping mechanisms to deal with both acute and chronic stressors in your life.

Focusing on client systems to provide holistic treatment, I am also able to work with those for whom their faith community and/or spiritual practice is an important part of their identity. I collaborate with my clients to find the treatment approach that is compatible with their stated goals. I look forward to taking this journey with you.

About Me

Hi, I’m Karon

I am a bilingual (Spanish) practitioner with experience working with a diverse group of clients, including helping professionals. My work has been dedicated to assisting survivors of trauma, including intimate partner violence and sexual assault, and individuals dealing with life transitions (i.e., professional, relational, loss of loved ones, and/or loss of physical functioning.

I am a therapist dedicated to working with those whose needs often go unmet; not only clients, but helping professionals as well. My goal is to work with you, the client, as you confront crisis or transition of all types, and I am committed to services offered in a way that is culturally respectful, and include your systems of importance, be they familial, spiritual, social, or professional.

Anxiety is a feeling of fear, dread, and uneasiness. It might cause you to sweat, feel restless and tense, and have a rapid heartbeat. It can be a normal reaction to stress.

Depression

Depression (major depressive disorder) is a common and serious medical illness that negatively affects how you feel, the way you think and how you act.

Coping Skills

The methods a person uses to deal with stressful situations. These may help a person face a situation, take action, and be flexible and persistent in solving problems.

Divorce

A divorce is a formal ending of a marriage. It’s more permanent than a separation and involves a legal process. If you get a divorce, that means the marriage is officially over.

How do I start therapy?

Simply contact my office and we will set up a time for a consultation. If we decide to move forward, we will set up a convenient time for us to meet based on your schedule and needs. 

How long is a therapy session?

Typically, my therapy sessions last about 50min for individual therapy.

How long should I go to therapy?

This depends on the person. Some people only need therapy for a few months while others need to attend therapy for years. Each individual is different, and It’s my mission to help my client’s eventually leave therapy and live a life without needing it.

How often should I go to therapy?

This is different from person-to-person. Typically, people attend therapy once a week. However, for those who have been going to therapy for a while, they might only come in once a month. While those who are in more severe circumstances attend twice a week.

What insurance do you accept?

I accept insurance from most providers. If your insurance is not listed, you can call your provider to see if they will reimburse you for paying out-of-pocket.

What if I don’t have insurance?

That’s no problem at all. I charge $125 hour for those who do not have insurance or do not want to use their insurance. Sliding scale could apply depending on your individual circumstance.
